Cross-Country from Chapel Lake to Pearl Lake
Near Chapel Lake is an easier cross-country route from Pearl Lake. You can get to Pearl Lake from Portal Lake on good trail that passes between the ponds and the cliff and then climbs up to the bench that Pearl Lake sits on. From there the rough but safer cross-country route to Midway Lake Bench can be found. Cross-Country around Pearl Lake, like the whole area, is very easy.
